The British people want to stay in

Claims by leading Brexiteers that leaving EU is an expression of the will of the people sounds still more hollow, as yet another poll shows a majority wanting to remain in the European Union.

Naturally, a poll conducted by a data research company can’t be compared to an actual referendum, but as still more polls show a steady support for Bremaining, it seems likely that the majority has, in fact, shifted, leading to the question: On whose behalf does the Brexit minister actually speak, now that it is clearly NOT on behalf of the British people?

Although the idea of leaving the European Union is still supported by most of those who voted for the Brexit back in June 2016, a recent YouGov poll suggests that as many of 14% of those – almost one in seven – have regretted or are unsure about their decision to vote the UK out of Europe. In total, 47% of the UK population now thinks that leaving the EU is a bad idea, while just 42% supports it.

The poll was conducted by YouGov for The Times and more details can be found on the YouGov website.
